Can a scandalous American bring a traumatized prince back to life or will she only break what’s left of his heart?

Alistair gave up the life of a royal to be a relief worker in Paraguay. Reeling from the aftermath of a raid at the camp, he’s summoned to his father’s bedside in London. Shaken and overwhelmed, Alistair runs in to Amanda, the social climbing sister-in-law his family hates. He can’t leave her alone because she’s the only person who accepts the man he is now. She’s never met a bad boy she didn’t seduce, but now a good man has stolen her heart. Soon they’re sneaking around, dodging photographers, and his family forbids him to see her.

Will Alistair buckle under the expectations of his critically ill father or does this rebellious prince have enough fight left in him to follow his heart?

Alistair is the youngest brother of the royal family. He's been off doing charity work in Paraguay and is headed home to see his sick father the king and has a pretty bad case of PTSD from an incident at the relief camp. One thing that worked for me with his character is he is very physical and runs and works out to deal with stress and nightmares, which I think is a believable attempt to cope. He's buying garlic bread when Amanda, the sister in law he's never met, recognizes him. She's jealous of her sister who married a prince and has a bad reputation for a scandal she started at her own failed wedding. Everyone in his family hates her so of course, they Meet Cute and he's attracted to her. She's very straightforward with him and honest. He feels comfortable with her when he is uncomfortable basically everywhere else due to the PTSD and culture shock of being back home in a palace.
They have a hot affair and he has serious feelings for her but his family capital-H HATES Amanda and bans her from visiting him on palace property and tries everything to keep them apart.
Amanda was a complicated character because she was so unapologetic about who she was and what she liked (money, her breast implants, getting her own way) but also loyal and compassionate. She wasn't a total good girl which kept it interesting.
One of the best in the series.

The Rebel Prince Royal Romances Book 6 edition by Molly Jameson Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

Love this series. I have been looking forward to reading this book, I wanted to see how the characters of Alistair and Amanda would grow. And I was not disappointed, I think this is my favorite book in this series. Where in the other books these characters appeared shallow and self centered, in this book their true character comes out.
And finally we get to the youngest. Alistair, oh Alistair. Perhaps the noblest of the lot, and a goodly lot it was. I did not at all expect him to end up where he did. (I'm going to leave it at that teaser as a spoiler I will not be.)

This is a wonderful story of both redemption and love. The characters, both new and returning, are beautifully drawn and I learned much more about them as they grew through the story.

It's hard to write this without giving anything away, so let's just leave it at that. If you want a royal romance that is both different and realistic, is both serious and fun, and is deliciously written in any event, this is the book for you.

Having said all of that, note that while this novel works well as a stand alone, you really should read several of the other books first (heck, start with book 1 and work up to this one, the enjoyment you'll get doing so makes it easily worth the effort), as those prior books have background that will enhance your pleasure in reading this book.

Highly recommended. Enjoy.
Enjoyable read. Have enjoyed the whole series.
This was a good read. I was a little lost cause I have not read the others in this series. But was able to catch up with the story.
It was a lovely story of two people who had to overcome objections to their being together. A good hea ending. I am hoping to see a follow-up book dealing with the youngest child of the Royal family.
I have read all of the othet books in the series, butI was not able to put this book down. In the first book, from the series, I totally diliked Amanda. However, by the third chapter of this book, I started to emphasize with her and love her brazenly attitude. By the end of the book I was rooting for the couple! I loved it!
I've been enjoying this series, and I'm looking forward to the next book, but the book was one I literally couldn't put down. I started reading it at bedtime and, despite the fact that I'm normally out cold by 10 PM, I was still reading this after midnight. It definitely qualifies as a "satisfying reading experience."
